    Jessica Fleming on Keyboard

Jessica Fleming started playing piano at the age of 4.  Influenced by her musical father, Geoff Fleming (bass player), she also explored saxophone, flute, cello, bass and violin through elementary and middle school.  Mostly, she enjoyed singing, playing, and writing pop music.  She was entered into classical competitions and got the highest rating six out of seven years.

After high school she joined a rock band with brother drummer/engineer Jason Fleming and Producer/DJ Jr. Sanchez called "OUTPUT" which was a short-term success.  She gained some performance experience from touring many major cities in Canada, Spain, D.C., Miami, and the Tri State area.  She also aided Jr. Sanchez in creating remixes for other bands and writing and recording original tracks.  During this time she also started playing guitar and drums, singing backups, and creating sounds on analog synthesizers.

While enrolled at Mercer County Community College as a classical piano major she then started to have an interest in Jazz. Learning from listening to records, singing over Aebersolds, and Jazz Karaoke tracks, she then applied and auditioned at Montclair State University, John J. Cali School for Jazz vocals and was accepted. Now Jessica has successfully completed a bachelor degree in Jazz studies receiving the Jazz award her senior year.

"It has been an interesting journey so far", says Jessica, "I keep taking chances and trying new things to see where it might lead me, but at the end of the day I believe if you work hard and stay positive, good things will happen. It may not be what you planned, but most importantly you have to enjoy the ride".

In the future Jessica intends to write more music, is applying to Graduate schools, and finishing up her minor in fine arts at Montclair State U.  With a diverse back round in Classical, Pop, House, Rock, Blues, and R&B, she will continue to broaden her horizons.
