The HAPI Story

Not too long ago, four strong, professional and dedicated women came together with a dream. A lifetime of stories between us would soon become the fabric that bound us together for the sake of making a difference; the arts, the mechanism by which we would accomplish our life long goals. This project was born from a desire to bring youth and the community just one step closer to knowing the power of the arts.

Our stories and experiences have become the foundation for the Heart of the Arts Project. We each have personally lived the power of the arts in the process of healing the soul. We believe that music can be the light that guides us through the darkness; or the sound that brings a healing touch against all odds. We have watched the arts and its many genres change the lives of so many; so many that were close to our very own hearts. We have watched the art of movement change the dynamic and heart of an autistic child and the power of journaling give a voice to a traumatized woman. We have also watched first hand the smile on a fathers face after a long day of work when he sees the work of his child … a crayon and lined paper…”I love you daddy” .

Given the global mood of our communities, in a time of great anxiety and hesitation to take risks… we wanted to offer a simple yet satisfying diversion. The Heart of the Arts Project offers a safe and nurturing place to sing, dance ,play, write and tell the world exactly who we are … and the potential of who we can become.

Each of our life experiences has led us to come together for a common purpose. We are dedicated to bring to the community professional, caring and guided self expression; through our programs, children and adults alike can feel self worth; dignity and ultimately be empowered to achieve anything… to reach beyond today and see a better tomorrow. The Heart of the Arts Project and its founders bring you a shared vision; A passion to change the world using the instruments of our hearts.
